ROYAL AHOLD: Reports EUR7.5 Billion in Sales for 1st Qtr. 2008 Ahold reported consolidated net sales of EUR7.538 billion for the first quarter ending April 20, 2008. Compared to EUR7.634 billion in first quarter of 2007, net sales decreased by 1.3%. Ahold Europe contributed EUR3.195 billion net sales for the first quarter of 2008, or a 14.2% net sales increase in comparison to EUR2.797 billion net sales in first quarter 2007. Ahold USA contributed EUR4.343 billion net sales for the first quarter of 2008. A 10.2% decrease compared to EUR4.837 billion in the same period of 2007.
